Never played before? Perfect — padel is the easiest racket sport to learn. In 10 minutes you know the rules, and in your first hour you're having real rallies.

The Sport

What is padel?

A mix between tennis and squash: always played in doubles, on a smaller court enclosed by glass walls — and the walls are part of the game.

2 vs 2

Always doubles

Four players on court. That's why it's the most social racket sport — come with friends or find teammates here.

20×10 m

Court with glass walls

Smaller than a tennis court, so less running and more rallies. The ball stays in play after hitting the wall.

10 min

That's how long it takes to learn

The serve is underhand, the racket is light, and you pick up the rules in your first match. Your level climbs fast, and it gets addictive.

The Rules

The rules, in brief

If you've ever watched a tennis match, you already know half the rules.

🎾 Scoring, just like tennis15 – 30 – 40 – game. Matches are usually played in two sets of six games.
🫳 Underhand serveLet the ball bounce once and hit it below waist height, diagonally — much easier than in tennis.
🧱 The walls are in playAfter the ball touches the ground, it can hit the glass and stay in play. You can also play the ball after it bounces off your own wall.
☝️ One bounce onlyThe ball is allowed to touch the ground once on your side. Hitting the wall directly (without touching the ground) is a point for your opponents.
🚫 No second bounceYou also lose the point if the ball bounces twice, hits the net, or goes out of the court without touching the ground on the other side.
⚡ Volleys allowedYou can hit the ball out of the air (except on the serve return) — that's where the game's fast, spectacular rhythm comes from.

How Mexicano works

Every Sunday we play Mexicano — 16 players per session, four courts, two hours. Pairings change after every round, so you play with new people and the matches stay balanced.

🎾 One round = 4 gamesEach of the four players serves exactly once. A round ends 4–0, 3–1 or 2–2.
➕ The points are yoursYou collect the games your pair wins. Your score follows you through the whole session, whoever you end up playing with.
🔀 New pairs every roundAfter each round the standings are recalculated and pairs are formed by score: first with fourth, second with third.
⚖️ Close matchesBecause players on similar scores end up on the same court, matches stay tight — whatever your level.
⏱️ As many rounds as fitWe play rounds until the two hours are up. There's no fixed number: it depends how closely fought the games are.
🏆 Standings at the endAt the end of the session all points are added up for the overall standings. You win on your own, not as a team.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to play an hour?

The court costs 110 RON/hour (Mon–Fri 08:00–17:00) or 170 RON/hour (evenings and weekends) — split between 4 players, that's 28–43 RON per person. Plus 15 RON for racket rental, if you don't have one.

I don't have anyone to play with. What do I do?

The simplest way: join our WhatsApp community — over 1000 players constantly looking for partners. On Playtomic you can also join "open matches" with players at your level, and on Sundays the Mexicano sessions are waiting for you.

Is it really that easy to learn?

Yes. The small court, the underhand serve, and the walls that keep the ball in play mean your first rallies happen in the first hour — not after weeks, like in tennis.

How long is a booking?

Standard 1 hour or 1.5 hours — you choose at booking. For starters, one hour is just right.

Is it suitable for kids / for 50+?

Absolutely. You set the intensity — it's played from age 6 to 70+. It's a game of placement and reflexes, not brute force.

Is there a coach for beginners?

Yes — message us on WhatsApp and we'll connect you with a coach for an introductory lesson, on your own or with your group.
